CPHS Baseball: James Garrison resigns, Matt Brown named interim Head Coach

Matt Brown has been named interim head coach for the 2019-2020 season following the unexpeCted resignation of James garrison.

Charles Page High School Head Baseball Coach James Garrison submitted his resignation on Wednesday, September 11. Pitching Coach Matt Brown was subsequently named the Interim Head Coach for the 2019-2020 season.

Garrison took the reigns of the Sandite baseball program in 2017 and amassed a 46-23 record in his two seasons, guiding the team to a Spartan/Tiger Turf War tournament title in 2018. The team had winning district records both seasons but didn’t make the State Tournament.

Brown came to Sand Springs with Garrison after Garrison was fired from Edmond Memorial. He started his coaching career at Oklahoma Christian University before joining Garrison’s staff. Brown is a graduate of Stillwater High School. He played collegiate baseball at the University of Arkansas Little Rock and at Oklahoma Christian University.
