CPHS Golf: Griggs, Persons, and Kinard qualify for State Tournament

The Charles Page High School golf teams qualified three individuals for the State Championship tournament this past week. Carson Griggs qualified for the boys while Ashton Persons and Madison Kinard qualified for the girls.
Griggs was the top qualifying individual with a score of 152 in a two-round par 144 tournament at Bailey Ranch Golf Course in Owasso. He shot eight large in round one while Kyler Gaylor was seven large. They went opposite directions on the second round, however, with Gaylor shooting an 85 to fall just short of qualifying while Griggs broke even.
The Lady Sandites will compete at Ponca City Country Club Wednesday and Thursday while Griggs will play at The Golf Club of Edmond next Monday and Tuesday.
