Cheyenne Walden claims third conference title: Girls 6th, Boys 9th

The Frontier Valley Conference 5K was held Tuesday, October 13th at Mohawk Park in Tulsa. 

The next event for the Sandites will be the Regional 5K this coming Saturday, the 24th. 

Varsity Girls

Junior Lady Sandite Cheyenne Walden continues to prove herself to be not only one of the best athletes at Charles Page, but in the entire state. The two-time state champion secured her third-straight conference title with a 1st place finish of 18:00.6, barely a second shy of her season-best. This is her 6th first place finish this season, and she is undefeated in the state of Oklahoma. Her only 2nd place finish was to a Missouri runner at the Fayetteville XC.

Alexis Davis also finished in the top 15 with a season-best 20:42.6 time for a 12th place finish.

Julia Lewis set a new season-best with a 50th place finish of 24:22.4

Overall, the Lady Sandite varsity squad finished 6th while Bartlesville brought home the gold with three top-five finishers.

Varsity Boys

The lead Sandite on the boys' team was freshman Aden Baughman with a season-best 18:06.9. This is his second time this season leading the team.

Brayden Hardesty, the only varsity senior, was second on the team, finishing 47th in 19:09.9.

Two other varsity boys set season-bests. Brendan Williams finished in 19:38.4 for a 56th place finish and Phillip Elleman finished 62nd in 20:18.8.

The Charles Page varsity boys finished 9th; Bartlesville got the gold with two top-five finishers and six top-fifteen finishers.

JV Girls

The Lady Sandite JV squad came in 9th place; Jenks took first with two top-ten finishers.

The Charles Page JV boys came in 8th place; Jenks took first with two top-ten finishers.

Junior High Girls

Clyde Boyd Middle School 7th grader Kalea Fleming brought in a first place finish with nearly a nine-second lead on the runner-up and a 11:52.7 finish at the junior high 3200 run.

Overall the junior high Lady Sandites came in 7th, while Jenks took 1st.

Junior High Boys

CBMS 8th grader Kaegan Murray finished in 10th place with an 11:49.8 finish.

With only two runners, CBMS was unable to place in the Junior High Boys 3200 run.
